The Wildlife Inter-Regional Enforcement (WIRE) Forum was established in 2016 to improve
cooperation in investigating transnational criminal networks. A total of nine WIRE Forums
have now been convened. These events have fostered international collaboration through
informal networks, working groups and restricted access meetings between government
officials. Restricted meetings not only build trust and relationships, but also enable sharing
of critical information on:
Risk indicators, hotspots
and border threats
Upcoming operations
Possible repatriation of
seized contraband
Persons of Interest
